Here is the good news - you're not alone! Many people fighting for high-quality public education in California. And here is the not-quite-so-good news . . . we have a long road ahead of us, and a lot of work to do. Here are some things you can do to help:
Join us on Facebook and and Twitter and sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date on issues and actions being taken by us, and others, on behalf of California Public Education. This includes a few events we'll be throwing, where you can meet like-minded people in your own community.

Host an Educate Me! Event
The best thing we can do is realize we are not alone! Share your passion for demanding high-quality, public education with others. We'll help, we promise. Contact [email protected]. We'll share why we started Educate Our State, why it matters and what we are doing to create change. Invite some friends, have them invite more friends...the next thing you know we'll have 25 folks in a room and the ideas will be flowing (maybe some coffee, too). You are part of the solution!
With supporters like you, we can increase parent engagement, teach parents how to advocate to improve their children's public school, and create the public will that is necessary for change. With your donation, you are making a difference and helping to improve education for ALL of California's children.
Educate Our State is a grassroots movement; so spreading the word through person-to-person contact is an important part of what we do. For more information on attending or hosting an Educate Me! Event in your area, contact us at [email protected]. We will let you know about what is going on in your area and/or assign a point person to support you through the “hosting” process.
There are a few different styles of Educate Me events dependent on your location, the number of attendees, and amount of time. Or maybe you’re already holding an event and would like us to come and talk; we can do that, too!
